Learn how to connect your site to Mailchimp with Members Only.
Introduction
The Members Only Mailchimp Connector extension (included free with Members Only) connects your WordPress site with Mailchimp, allowing you to automatically add members to your mailing list when they purchase a membership on your site.
The Mailchimp Connector requires a recent version of WordPress and the latest version of Members Only.
Getting Started
Enabling Mailchimp Connector
Go to the Members Only settings page, located in your WordPress admin under Settings → Members Only. Go to the Extensions section, and check the box to enable Mailchimp Connector, and click the Save Changes button.

Once you’ve saved the changes, you’ll see a new Mailchimp section with some settings to get your site connected.
Configuring Mailchimp Connector
API Key
Now that you have the plugin installed, the next thing you need is an API Key from your Mailchimp account. Once you have this, everything else is a breeze.
Here’s how to find your API key:
- Log into your Mailchimp account
- Click your profile photo at the top right
- Select Profile
- Click the Extras menu option
- Select API keys
- Click the button to Create A Key
- Copy the newly-created key

Paste the API key into the Mailchimp API Key field on the Members Only settings page of your WordPress site. It is located under Settings > Members Only in your WordPress admin dashboard.
Click the Save Changes button to save your API key.
Mailing List
Now that you’ve provided your API key, the Mailchimp Connector will get the names of the mailing lists you have in your Mailchimp account.

Use the Mailing List dropdown to select the list you want members added to when they purchase a membership on your site.
Tags
Mailchimp Tags are labels that help you organize your contacts. They let you create an organization structure that works best for you. For more information about Mailchimp tags, see their Getting Started with Tags documentation here.
Mailchimp Connector lets you specify which tags you want applied to your members in Mailchimp. Enter your tags in the text box, one tag per line.
